Fitment question
So I recently fitted 19x8.5 et35 wheels (square) with 235/40/19s. I want the rear to sit slightly more flush. While researching I've discovered we need to run AT LEAST a 12mm spacer on the rear to clear the factory hub. This would essentially put my offset at et23 with a 19x8.5. I'm current lowered quite a bit.
My question is, has anyone run this offset successfully without rubbing?? Current ride height |

19x8.5 et35 is almost flush already.... probably another 5mm spacer will do it.
When people talk add 12mm (15mm is actually alot more flush) spacer on the rear usually on a stock wheels which is 19x8.5 et47. Et23 will rub for sure |

The rear hub is 12mm long (deep). In order to keep the wheels hub centric, you need to have a 12mm or longer spacer to clear that hub and creat a new hub. It's the reason places like ecs have thing noting front or rear fitment

I think you mistaken something... the hub is where the the brake rotors is... means you always going to clear the hub. I think what you meant by wheel fitment is that the wheel will clear the brakes calipers not the hub. The hub is where the rotors are mounted then your wheels.

a 12.5mm spacer has it's own hub for the wheel to engage, whereas a 3, 5, or 7.5mm spacer does not, thus reducing the oem hub thickness by the spacer thickness. so if you have a 5mm spacer the oem hub is now 7mm and may not be enough to engage the centerbore of the wheel. if you are using thinner spacers without hublips you can rectify the situation by using hub extenders.

Ah I see... so that what ecs calls that. If you use 5mm will there still be a lip to get the wheel hub centric. I think you only need 5mm to make it flush.
Lug nut conversion will help you center easier Possible options 1. New wheels 2. Roll fenders (not for me) Last edited by Gen13 F36; 03-11-2020 at 12:40 AM.. |

if you get a 5mm spacer you'll still need appropriately longer lug bolts.
in your photo, it appears you have a lot of negative camber in the rear, if you reduce it a little bit, the upper tire shoulder will become more flush. doing this will raise the rear height a little as well, though. however that's where you want your rear camber then, try the spacer. EDIT, reducing camber 0.5 degree is about 6mm more flush. a future tire size of 255/35/19 would be more flush as well. Last edited by alohasurftoad; 03-11-2020 at 01:10 PM.. |

I have factory camber setting in the rear. Had it aligned a couple months back. The question was moreso aimed at the hub issue and any potential ways around that

So....not having the chamfered edge on the wheel side on a 5mm hub centric spacer will be ok? Wish we had the rear hub extender option like we do for the front

i have NEVER had a vibration problem caused by spacers (or ever) and have been well north of our speed limits. Last edited by alohasurftoad; 03-11-2020 at 04:27 PM.. |
