SOS malfunction morning Bluetooth no usb
Bought the car recently and have always had the spa malfunction and no Bluetooth states please wait usb doesn't connect and aux doesn't work blacked out. So my question is what does the com box actually do. For that stuff come from the radio or the com box. Some one had been behind the radio as the wires were all twisted. I want to order a com box but if that's not what's going to fix it don't want to spend money. Any info would be great thanks in advance

You can get them on Ebay or here in the classifieds.
Or try a google search. Combox does SOS , Bluetooth phone and Bluetooth streaming usb and aux . Aux in most cars though it can be programmed to come from the Head Unit. https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/ https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/e...agram/CkXCJAUo Also make sure it's not a blown fuse. |

Yea I have been looking on eBay but what are the chances those also don't work is my doubt. Just tired of using the fm transmitter for Bluetooth sound quality sucks. Also want to get my xm programming but with these issues I'm scared it won't work being its very expensive to get activated

satellite radio is a different module in most pro radio's
or idrive they didn't start to integrate into the head unit till sometime in the middle or toward the end of the e9x model run. Either you buy one used and take a chance or you pay up to 10 times the price also it probably will have to be programmed to your car. What do you consider expensive to get activated. I sure would go through the dealer to get that done. |

I have a late model e90 built November 2011 the top of my radio unit says Sirius radio. I see people with the remote tuning charge upwards of $300 to do it. That was another question I had if I buy a used one is there a chance of plug and play or will it need to be coded to the vehicle

If you have a Pro Radio with Sirius built in and the antenna hooked
up all it should need is enabling the Sirius options then calling Sirius and getting an account. Bimmertech charged 300 bucks but it included a one year subscription I believe. They send you the programming cable and do a remote install I believe. I think the same apply's to the idrive with built in satellite tuner not sure. |

Satellite or any other prep means the wiring and antenna's are
in place . In the early years this meant that you needed the module plus programming. Since yours says Sirius on the Radio I imagine all you would need is the function enabled in the Radio and the subscription to the service. |

I tried downloading it and with windows 10 it was giving me a hard time. I'll have to figure out how to get it to work. Might call the dealership and see what they would charge. Couldn't see it being all that much if it's just changing sales codes and activating it we would only charge an hours labor to do it at my dealership.

I wouldn't be to optimistic about the dealership price but I could
be wrong. They would probably insist on a working combox before they would do anything. |

So I put in the "previously enjoyed" combox from eBay and it's doing the same exact thing. The fiber optic is blinking red at the combox could it be the signal coming out of the radio or even the signal going back out? Maybe the return line is broken. I checked the amp the amp does not have a fiber wire going to it. I'm at a loss with this. Should I just buck up and take it to the dealership?
