M5 exhaust on m550i?

has anyone put m5 exhaust on their m550i? If so, I was wondering if anyone has also removed the resonators for more sound with the m5 mufflers.

Both exhausts are quiet, why not just get aftermarket?

Pretty sure m5 exhaust is much louder since on s63tu the cross bank setup cancels out sound so the mufflers dont need to be as quiet

Get a resonator delete on the m550i instead. Much cheaper and sounds really good imo.

If only we could fit those cross bank manifolds

I was thinking the m5 mufflers with possibly a resonator delete would be a decent solution without having to spend $3k on a full replacement exhaust. I wonder why no one has done it.

Do not get a res delete. I was looking in to Remus axle back and now I'm thinking of maybe getting stock axle back f90 just wondering if it will fit

Why don't you like the resonator delete?

Did you have a bad experience with one?

When spending 80k on a car butchering it by cutting the res in my opinion is crazy. Spend additional 1.5 - 2k and get a axle back exhaust. Also I did talk to my SA and he said removing res can sometimes impact the performance of your catalytic converter. So that sometimes can trigger a CEL or a code in your system because there are back pressure changes.

I agree with MLIFE550 regarding the butchering and the negative effects of a resonator hack out including horsepower loss . Select a professional engineered system. I went with the Dinan mid-pipe and exhaust, but there several others quality competitors.

How much of a pain was the F90 system to bolt up to the M550? I just got one for my car and I'm wondering what I am up against.

I've had the AC Schnitzer catback system for about 2 years with no problems so I cant imagine a res delete causing any long term issues.

I bought it from http://www.rgsportshop.com but I don't think it's listed there anymore. I paid about half of what this place is advertising https://www.gmpperformance.com/produ...xhaust-system/

Don't listen to any idiot telling you resonator delete will cause problems or power loss. Folks, if you don't know the hell youre talking about, just refrain from posting.

Yeah, people keep talking about "loss of backpressure will give you less hp", yet they go out and buy sports exhausts that has less restrictive airflow.

Hey fan51 you don’t add value to the post just calling everyone idiots. The issue is deleting the two resonators and with straight pipe vs. replacing the mid pipe section with an engineered x-pipe. If you have a useful comment to add, let’s hear that.

Does anyone know if the f90 m5 exhaust mufflers would bolt up to the m550? If so, I'm assuming some pipe reducers would be needed?
