Make sure the variable wiper switch is not all the way at the bottom. Then, use the windshield washers. It should get your lights at the same time.

They only work every third or fourth time you wash the windshield. You'll know it when the spray flies over the hood.

Lights on Auto also works, they don't have to be just "on". They come on like every 3rd pull of the washer stalk to spray the fluid i think.

If you look closely you'll notice there is a laser sensor in the system in order to detect when the headlights need cleaning. Put your head closely above the hood and ask a friend to activate the windshield cleaner. Then you'll see the area where the sensor detects the dust. Make this area dirty and they should spray the next time you activate them.

using the washers uses your headlight fluid! you don't want that going dry!!
