OEM BMW performance parts fit 335xi?

Do the BMW performance parts short shift kit and performance suspension fit the 335xi?

Most (if not all) OEM performance parts do not fit the 335XI. Be sure you check before you buy.

That's what I thought... when I had my E46 330xi, that was the issue too. I would love to know if at least the OEM ssk works.

Garage List
the xi isn't considered to be 'sport' at BMW so it doesn't get any BMW Performance modifications, and probably never will. They figure "the xi is for the practical, the i aka RWD are for the true enthusiast."

that being said, screw BMW Performance. Total rip-off. I'd go aftermarket. You might be able to fit the SSK, but other than that, third-party hardware wins.

The suspension for sure isn't going to work - BMW figures if you want AWD you don't want a performance suspension (even their sport pkg doesn't include any suspension changes).

However, somewhere in the DIY section, a SSK was put into an -xi. The big problem is that the transfer case or front diff (i forget which) gets in the way, making it a major change.

I bought the kit and it fit my car. I'll see if I can track down the part number in the AM.

The XI suspension (besides the run flarts) was the most disappointing. You'll have to go with H&R or KW.

Check out the XI technical forum. There are several forum members that have lots of info and general help on mods etc. for the XI.

Cheers,

The SSK is not a big deal. It can be done in 10 minutes, all from the inside of the car. A child could do it.

Incorrect.. the E92 335xi has the sport suspension, and the SSK will fit fine on an E90 or E92 335xi (I have one on my E90).

I'm considering redoing my suspension next spring, haven't decided on what to go with yet.. considering KW.

I own a 2012 335xi coupe and had a Dinan Stage 2 suspension installed then added Enkei Race PF01 18" wheels with bridgestone Pole Position tires and it works just great!
