On BMW's site it no longer says anything about power folding mirrors with the premium package.
Is this true? http://www.bmwusa.com/Standard/Conte...ndOptions.aspx Last edited by Rotary Rasp; 09-08-2008 at 10:44 AM.. |

I hope that's not true. That's one of my favorite features on my car.

power folding and power mirrors are different things.
power folding, the mirror casings folds in when you park or whatever. power mirrors, you can adjust the mirrors' view while sitting inside. I seriously hope they didn't delete folding mirrors from the ZPP. |

I'd be surprised if they didn't. It's a must have when you park on the street, or next to a wall in a parking garage so you can get as close as you can.

Honestly I rarely use it. The only times I typically use it is when I'm at an ATM or drive through or something similar. But then the kid flipping burgers starts going on about how my mirror folded up and how "that's the shit, dawg", and it just kind of gets uncomfortable, haha.

I use it every single time I pull in my garage. IT's a tight squeezing walking between my fiances car and mine.

With the new mirrors they might be concerned about someone trying to flap them Dumbo style to fly around...

It's a great feature that I use almost every time I park. It definitely helps keep people from bumping into them. It happened a few times with my E46 and received some scratches & gouges on them. It also makes going into a car wash easier instead of having to reach over to the passenger side and fold it in manually. Yes I know...car wash=blasphemy.

I'm a little kid at heart so the gee-wiz factor of pressing a button and having your mirrors fold in is priceless. I feel like I'm in a F-14 Tomcat and putting the wings back.

Except that your wings come OUT at "speed", not sweep back.
