Blasphemy I know..but I definitely think the E90 is better "for me" than the E92

Yes, I like the look of the E92 better at times..but I have been driving an loaner E92 328iX for the past 3 days..and I dont like the following:

1) The door is longer than heck..and weighs a ton - it is harder than hell to park this car in a parking garage and get in and out of the car without banging the crap out of the car next door. Seriously..I think this is bad. I dont want to hurt anyone elses car..I guess the solution is to park in bumfarook egypt or something everytime I go anywhere.

2) I dont fit in the car..headroom is not sufficient for me. In my E90 I fit fine..even with a helmet on..but with this 328 coupe..I definitely DONT fit. I moved the seat as low as it would go...and then tilted it..and then lowered the back aft..but still...I cannot get a comfortable seating position.

3) I have three teenage kids..and the coupe obviously doesnt allow all three of them to go in the car with me and the wife.

4) Does the air conditioning vent on the right side of the center section really not allow flowing air to the passenger front seat? Or is this an anomoly of this particular car. Very annoying for the wife.

So, I know lots of you guys poo poo us E90 owners..but I gotta tell you..I dont miss having the coupe one little bit. Different strokes for different folks. If it works for you...great..It just definitely doesnt work for me and my family.

Last comment..what the heck is the 2 second delay for the acclerator to actually make the car go?. Is this a 328 issue...or an automatic issue..or a combination of both? I hate this delay in getting the car to go. My 335i just goes..no muss..no fuss.

Ok...flame me if you want...just had to get those comments off my chest.

Sound like the dedan is a great choice for you then. On the other hand as for me personally I felt there were too many blind spots and I did not feel as comfortable driving it as I do with the E92. Good luck on your purchase.

no reason to flame lol
thats odd that you say the e90 has less headroom then the e92, i had an exact opposite experience. When i first test drove a 335 it was an e90 and i was squeezing inside of it, however in the e92 i sit quite comfortably. However, I agree with you that the seats do now lower enough on the e92.

in the end of the day, its your car. drive what you like.

No, I said the E92 has less headroom than the E90.

I wonder if they change seat manufacturers from time to time....

Age related...most young and cool people will drive and prefer coupes, while the old and decrepit old men will drive sedans....

*cough* bullsh!t *cough*

i am 26 and chose sedan because i liked the design more then that of the coupe! plus there is more room if someone joins me, and this is my only car so it makes sense all the way.

to OP - there is no blasphemy. E90 is a fine choice, just like the E91. thankfully BMW builds 4 body styles of the 3er so we all can chose and I think they all look distinct and have their pros and cons. I don't consider E92 to be the best of them all for sure. I think it looks very heavy in the mid section and needs some big ass wheels to have a proper stance. it does look sweet from the back but the front is bit too 'nice', there is no quirkiness in it. the E93 looks worse then the coupe with the roof up, and E91 has a bit sagging arse look, while E90 from the back to some looks like a huyndai, plus some people insist that whats up front is a moustache (!?!), never mind that its the same design as that of a 6 series! :S

usually young people are willing to give up practicality of a sedan for the "cool" and sportiness of a coupe. also the fact that they usually don't have a family helps.
I would just make the wife get the station wagon and call it a day

Totally agree with the OP. My only thought is that an E91 335 would be even cooler...

I am 28 and truly think that the sedan is the way to go...why go for the coupe if the sedan offers the same handling, the same power, and very good looks with the M Sport packet, and all this while being able to show all of this to your friends, in comfort ? More room for girls in the back

I'm not even 30 yet...

4 doors and seating for five. Works great for taking my kids to school. I do wish I could have got coral red leather and grey poplar trim though.
