BMW MPerformance LSD for Pre-LCI Automatic, 2WD or AWD, 3.15, F3X 335i/435i Automatic $1350 + shipping. Unfortunately I did not purchase this a year ago at the bargain rates. Late last Fall, I believed I had an use coming up. After extensive searching, found the last LSDs remaining for sale at Bimmerworld.com and immediately purchased as I knew if I waited it would be gone. https://www.bimmerworld.com/M-Perfor...107555607.html Of course the project fell apart as I had pre-purchased parts. Never fails. As many know, I only do some of these things as a hobby on nights and weekend after my real job, which is why I occasionally end up with assorted unused parts. Look at my iTrader rating and look at the comments. I don't sell junk, only top quality stuff. Just looking to get what I have in it out out of it. Yes, it's more than others paid a year ago but still almost half of the MSRP. But as you can read from the various threads, it's still well worth it at this price. Eventually someone will want it or I'll end up using it for a future project. Rather recoup my costs right now instead of waiting around. Will not cut price. Again, only trying to recoup what I paid for it. Last edited by IK6SPEED; 02-08-2020 at 12:31 AM.. |

I went for it after being educated by a friend with experience with LSDs on his cars. The beauty of the MP LSD is how it is designed to work seamlessly with the electronic systems already built into the car. When you install an MP LSD there is no coding at all. The two systems work independently of each other. A standard rear differential just keeps sending power to a slipping tire and none to the other side. So the tire keeps spinning and the car doesn't move, like being stuck in the mud in the movie My Cousin Vinny. If the BMW electronic systems sense one of the rear wheels slipping by more than 30%, they can apply the brake at that wheel and/or cut engine throttle. This is why some people report that their rear brake pads wear faster. Depending on how they drive and road conditions, the car may be applying the rear brakes more than the front brakes. The MP LSD is a mechanical device. It senses rear wheel slippage at 1% and immediately transfers more power to the other wheel that is not slipping. It works that way until slippage gets over 19%. Over that amount, then the car's electronic systems take over. So the two systems both work to solve the same traction issue but don't know about each other and don't interfere with each other. What I didn't realize until I installed the LSD, is how much rear wheel slippage I had. It's not something you realize until it is suddenly gone. With the LSD, now from a standing start or upon entering a turn the car seems nailed to the road. Initially it can trick you into thinking that the steering is more precise because as soon as you start into a curve it feels just like point and shoot. What you are actually feeling is the LSD immediately overcoming any wheel slippage and powering right through the turn much quicker than before. Hope this helps! |

Awesome price. I have a one series with the open diff and when I drove two series to replace it, both the cars I drove had LSDs. Although I can't comment on open diff vs lsd for the 2/3/4 series, I can say that my car with lsd doesn't have annoying power cuts (even on 225 square winters) that my 1 had. No performance car should have an open diff imo (yeah yeah, I know about mclaren, but you know what I mean).

I wish I had only paid that. Considering I was helping people find bargains on them 9 months ago in many threads, I should have purchased a few then. Just my "imperfect luck".

https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/f...drive/GzqfC0Mc Should take around 2.5 - 3.0 hours and the rate would depend on what you pay locally. Would suggest a BMW Dealership providing they do not try to gouge you, as they have the tools and, being 100% BMW, warranty would never be questioned (not that I've read of anyone needing to warranty one on Bimmerpost or other Internet forums). |

it wasn't an easy install as I had my Indy shop do it given that it's easier with that specialized tool that gets the diff separated from the axles. It costed about $400 ish for the install but given the price I got for it I didn't care for the install price so much as the discount received. F36GC_NYC

I had my M LSD installed by bmw dealer for $350 after negotiating with the service manager. It’s a fantastic upgrade if you’re stage 2+ or greater

It's a fantastic upgrade stock and above. You don't need extra power or other mods to enjoy how it changes the experience driving the car. Even on xdrive.

Doesn't matter though. It was sold to @makh5 and I didn't mark it as such. I have marked it as such now. I am only aware of 1 available now and they want $2100 shipped. If interested, let me know and I'll give you contact info. |
