Talking Official 2009 E90post Calendar

Just borrowing an idea from the guys over on M5board.... Since I am going to invest in some calendar making software, how about we do an official E90post 2009 calendar?
  • Please submit a 800X600 photo
  • Deadline for photo submission will be Oct 15th
  • Photo voting to be completing by Nov 1st
  • Calendar distribution by Nov 15th
  • Format will allow you to print off at home
Finalists will submit high resolution photos to me by email at a later date.

If someone is a pro-printer, perhaps they can step up and offer to print and ship (for a fee) these calendars.

Who's in?

How are you handling the voting and also the calendar distribution once it's printed?

Once we get enough photos, we can set up a poll.

I would be distributing the calendar electronically. But if a pro printer wants to step up to handle physical printing and fees, we can do it that way.

We can set up a waiver for copyright issues, if needed.

I don't really have time to devote to it myself but would be happy to provide some guidance.

I can attest that Jonathan has experience in this area.

The two submissions already aren't 800x600, neither of them (though Kamando's is close). I think it would be easiest for those of us voting if submitters keep it to 800x600 exactly, because we can just line them all up for a vote.

Keep in mind that you in submitting a photo have to have the rights to that photo, i.e. either you took it or the photographer has granted you the right to use it, in this instance for the calendar.

Good point, guess I'll have to take it down for the time being

The owner of the copyright would have to sign the waiver. The person who submits the picture - if not the photography/copyright owner - could not sign it or waive copyright.

Yes, they would have to declare they own it and waive it.

If you prepare the waiver knowing that the person signing it does not own it (a likely supposition if the person who is signing it is also in the photo) you would be inducing fraud. That moves this into an entirely new realm of copyright law violation.
