tire pressure

We have a base model 328dx that only displays the TPMS as active or not, no pressure readings. I'd like to add tire pressure readings. Is this something that can be achieved via coding?

If you have TPMS capable of displaying the pressure you have to go the iDrive menu> Vehicle info>Vehicle status>Tire Pressure Monitor (TPM) to see the tire pressures. If that doesn't work you have first generation TPMS, which doesn't give pressure readings.

From the factory my car had the TPMS status under the Vehicle Status menu but it would only paint the tires in color based on condition. With BimmerCode I was able to unlock the pressure and temperature readouts, it's great companion for track sessions.

What year? My 2015 didn't require any coding to display pressures. My 2007 couldn't display anything other than good or bad.

We have a 2014. I remember one of the packages (navigation?) showed pressure readings while our base model simply gives out the green colored wheel to show the system is operational. That's what made me think in might just be coded out for the base model.

Mine is a base model. But there are different levels of 'base'. For instance, my base GT came with xDrive and sunroof standard, it wasn't even available without them. I guess the only way to know for sure is to get Bimmercode and see. If it's an option Bimmercode will find it when it looks at your system. Even if you can't do the pressure readout Bimmercode is worth the price if all you do is to code off the stupid disclaimer that comes on the screen every time you start the car.

Mine is a '12. If you had Nav it was enabled and in later models it was enabled in non-nav cars from the factory.

Bimmercode was well worth it if only to turn off the awful ASS.
