Question Do you have to replace wipers with windshield?

Hi,

Silly question here....

Going to get my windshield replaced tomorrow (finally - been about a year with this epic crack). I feel they will try to sell me on new wipers. Wiper blades seem to work fine to me at the moment - how important is it to replace them?

I ask because I feel like the glass shop will tell me how super important it is to replace them and I just don’t know. Does a chip or crack negatively affected the most blade that much?

if they are fine I would skip it - you can always replace them at a later stage

It's not important. I had a new windscreen on my old 118d and didn't replace the wipers - they worked perfectly. You can always swap them yourself afterwards if you feel they aren't up to scratch anyway.

You should replace them yearly even if you feel they are still wiping good, you'll be surprised to see the difference with new blades. I changed mine after a year even though they were still wiping fine(no streaks) and noticed a big difference. Just don't over pay for them especially if they want to charge you for installation, they are very easy to install.

Not required. If they are a year old, why wouldn’t you replace the wipers? They don’t last forever. Once per year is a good replacement cadence.
