AMG GLC 63 vs X3MC pricing
I have owned two previous BMWs and I am pretty familiar how BMW sales cars and it seems like all the dealerships haggle and discount decent to really good on the different models, some better than others such as the X3MC.
I'm also interested in the AMG GLC 63 but don't have any experience with Mercedes. The one dealership I went into to look at this car ended up not having it at their location as it looked like they did but I did inquire about pricing and I got a response that they don't discount these from MSRP and that they are hard to get allocation for. Is this accurate or was this guy blowing smoke? MSRPs are pretty close to the X3MC but if one really can't get decent discounts (or any) off MSRP with Mercedes or maybe this particular AMG GLC 63, I would not be interested as that just doesn't seem like they want your business. |

The situation is different in Europe but I can share with you my experience with X4MC vs. GLC 63 AMG.
I decided to buy the X4MC because: 1. Mercedes offers very small discounts for new cars (1-2%) 2. There are 200+ second hand cars offered in Germany and 75% are under 10K miles. That means the owners get rid of them very fast. 3. After an 1 day test drive with the GLC 63S AMG my conclusions were: - The car is very fast and aggressive (which I liked). It seems to be faster than the X4M. Probably it is just a sensation because of the loud noise. - The average consumption was 10.5 mpg (on 6.000 miles). - The fuel tank is very small = the real autonomy is about 220 miles If you would drive it on a german highway, you would have to stop to the gas station at every 2 hours. If you drive very fast, it is every 1h. - The sound of the engine is great! At the beginning! But after 1,5h of driving you cannot hear your thoughts any more. - The interior design was very old (model 2018). There were buttons similar with what I had on my C63AMG, in 2008. - The interior space is similar with X4M - The comfort is similar with X4M (= not very comfortable) - The price of that second hand GLC63S (with 6.000 miles) was equal with the special offers for the new X4MC. - The taxes (in my country) for a 4L AMG engine are 3 times higher than the ones for a 3L engine. My decision was to buy the X4M! And I love it! |

Thought the GLC had just had refresh? Certainly my daughter drives a run out GLC220d pre changes.... and son in law is getting a post change GLC43 next week. Think it’s fair to say they like them...

I was cross shopping the 2020 GLC 63 with updated infotainment. Very few 2020's in stock close to me. I was offered a car at "invoice". It was around $4000 off MSRP of $79,725. I was seriously considering buying the car but it was sold before I made a decision. Got a much, much better overall deal on my XM3.

AMG get discounted like any other car depends on supply and demand. So the SA was blowing smoke
I bought a C63 AMG 73 k sticker for 58 k new E63 S 111 sticker for 95 K new GLA 45 67 k sticker for 52 k new if you are going to lease , X3M is the only way to go because AMG leases badly so the monthly payment difference will be several hundreds for same MSRP and I don't think that is worth it |

Use cargurus and contact several sellers to get them interested in your business. Open your geographic search horizon to give yourself the best chance for a deal. I see you got some feedback on the M-B site confirming that discounts are possible. |

I compared a 2020 Bmw X3MC msrp roughly $82695 to a 2020 MB Glc 63 amg suv msrp $86715. With the massive discounts 10.5% plus off msrp and bmw cash incentives currently on the 2020 X3MC it came out before tax title fees to be almost $9400 cheaper than the Glc 63 amg. Plus the BMW includes all maintenance free for 3 years. The 2020 Glc 63 amg suv can be had for 10% off msrp.

I'm mainly interested in the AMG due to more comfortable ride (air suspension?), throatier sounding engine (V8), and dealership proximity for service. Anyone know what an annual service on an AMG GLC 63 would run? Since BMW includes 3 years of this. |

@robininni I agree with you 100% most MB dealers have the most uptight arrogant sales attitude when dealing with pricing for Amgs. I have owned multiple Bmws currently have an M4 and X5 and the experience with MB was piss poor. When I test drove the 2020 Glc 63 the sound of the bi turbo v8 engine was the biggest plus over the X3MC. The Glc 63 doesn't even have a heated steering wheel option. The Glc 63 has more of a German muscle car suv feel versus the X3MC which is more a track ready precision driving suv. I believe the service A cost an oil change is $250-300 and the service B cost is around $850. In my personal opinion it's tough to justify the almost 10k price gap btwn the 2020 X3MC and 2020 Glc 63 suv not including the extra in maintenence costs. Hats off to Amg though that 4.0 liter bi turbo v8 sounds and drives like a true beast.

I managed to get around 10k pounds sterling off a 70k pound sterling w205 c63amg (2016 brand new) in the UK. This was better than the deal I found on an m4 comp at the time (and resultantly cancelled the m4).
Deals are there and can be found, but takes more effort than for a beamer. Seems like net net mercedes is making less money than BMW. Also the second hand car for these cars, prices both amg and BMW very similarly - e.g a used C63 vs m power, used e 63 Vs M5. I think people are quick to conpare, but it's also important to bare in mind what people actually are paying! |

@shadowdemon1 The discounts you get in the UK are practically impossible to get here in the USA on Amgs or even newly released M cars. Even on mbworld I have never seen anyone get a steal on an Amg unless it's a lot car right before a complete new redesign year. If equally priced to an X3MC I would be open to a Glc 63 Amg suv just to try something different.

robininni, suggest you work several M-B dealers to build leverage. You can have your car serviced locally if you buy it outside the area.
Prepaid maintenance is approx $1500-$1700 for 4 visits, one each for every 10k miles. Ask the dealer you are working with on the GLC to quote prepaid maintenance. It might be a bit higher than the figure I gave you. The package includes oil changes, air filters, wipers, etc. It does not include brakes, which on AMG models can be expensive, especially if you opt for carbon ceramic. |

Maybe a few k in four years? Impossible to say. If the new market stops putting v8s in such cars that might be bigger. Let's just say, all in all, if you have the means to afford these cars, it is not going to make a huge difference to your retirement plans.

The MB scheduled service includes a bunch of time for checking things that likely don’t really need checking. I managed to do the Service A on our CLA45AMG for basically the cost of an oil and filter change, about $150. |

One thing which was a deal-breaker for me was that the GLC63 doesn't lease well at all. I was literally being quoted $300-$400 more per month for leftover 2019's. It just didn't sit well with me.

Shocking that the 2020 Glc 63 suv has almost a 10k price premium over a 2020 X3MC. The deals and incentives on the X3MC are crazy good now. I wonder if deals like these will exists on the 2020 X5M after the hype dies down. Plus the additional in maintenance costs which BMW include for free.
