It's an AWD, Automatic car. It pretty much drives itself in a straight line as long as you have the accelerator floored. Not to mention the X3M got the jump using LC...

The concerning part was when the Alfa passed the BMW like it was a Corolla, after the initial launch. We need some people here to post some runs racing their X3/4M's to get better real world results. These magazines do not know how to film these races and give no times.

I've now seen 3+ drag races between the X3MC and the Quad... let's come to grips with the fact that the Alfa may be .1-.2 secs faster in the 0-60... big deal! (3.3 vs. 3.5 both insane times for a SUV!) What makes the X3MC such a more appealing package IMO, the tech is FAR superior (honestly, this was the deal-breaker for me in not considering the Quad), the interior quality is nicer, more usable cargo space, and it's much less expensive, especially with the BMW lease deals! Both are hot rides, but like most of us on this forum, we side (even if only slightly) with the X3M as the better package.

Yes, exactly. I would also add that the LC is a bit tricky to use in this car. Many people just brake boost the start without fully engaging the LC. And as you said, no times posted so no chance to check whether the run was legit.

I reckon the Stelvio will always win - as I understand it, there's no launch control on that car, just foot to the floor to get its top times - more low end torque. The X3MC needs the LC to spin up the turbo, and realistically I don't see me using that often (haven't yet), so the X3MC is always going to lag a little off the line. Once they got going though it doesn't look like the Alfa pulled further away, other than the initial jump when the X3MC bogged down a bit. It pull a car length or so in front then they just kinda stayed like that, evenly matched thereafter. I'm sure the Stelvio is exciting off the line every time, but the interior and plastics look a bit low rent for the money. Bottom line, I have an X3MC because it was the same price as my 30D order, would have been rude not to. It's more than fast enough.

That is false. The Stelvio QV absolutely needs to build boost to get those times. I've driven the Alfa. It 100% needs to build boost as there is slight turbo lag from a dig. Not as bad as in the S58, but it's definitely there.

The Alfa does not have "LC", but you still need to "brake-boost" it by squashing down on the brake/gas simultaneously.

Watch the above video from 3:17-3:19. Both cars "hunker" down as they are both essentially brake-boosting. You can see the rear end "load up" and drop down as they prepare for take off.
