F30 2 step boot/tailgate unlock
On my 2014 F30, pressing and holding the boot button on the keyfob will unlock all doors and pop the boot open. This is great except sometimes if the keys are in my pocket, the sheer bulk of my beer gut pressing on them sometimes triggers it. I've been inside the house a few times now, looked out of the window and noticed the boot is up. Luckily nothing has been stolen so far, but I do often have my work laptop in there so it's becoming a bit of a security risk.
I've read that it is possible to code a 2 step process on the fob, so that first you have to unlock the car, then press the boot release button. Does anybody know what the coding is for this please? I'll be attempting it via E-Sys. |

I used Bimmercode in advanced mode, or whatever it's called.
It's in the FEM module, and you need to change the following to 'aktiv'. CLM_OPERATION_BOOTLID_AT_UNLOCKED With this set to 'aktiv', the tailgate will not open from the remote, until the car is unlocked. |

Strange, this value is already set to 'aktiv' on my car?

Here are my fixes for two boot-related 'problems'
1. To reduce the chance of a casual, accidental keypress opening the boot, add a time delay, so you have to keep the button depressed for short time: FEM_BODY 30D0 RC_TIME_DELAY_BOOTLID change wert01 (Werte = 05) to Werte=10 After this I never had the experience of going out to the garage and finding the boot open and the car unlocked. 2. To avoid the car doors being unlocked when just opening the boot: FEM_BODY 3040 CLM_OPERATION_BOOTLID_AT_UNLOCKED change aktiv to nicht_aktiv FEM_BODY 3040 CLM_UNLOCK_AT_OPEN_LID change aktiv to nicht_aktiv |

OK just recoded and there is some improvement. Cjn, I followed your instructions and have managed to add a bigger delay and stop the rest of the car unlocking when the boot is popped, so thanks for that.
Unfortunately CLM_OPERATION_BOOTLID_AT_UNLOCKED doesn't appear to have any effect on my car whether set to active or not. The boot still opens either way. Any more suggestions on how to force an unlock before boot will open? |

Had similar issues, got a key fob cover and that has helped. Something like this: https://www.google.com/url?sa=i&url=...AAAAAdAAAAABAD
