New X3MC owner

I'm hijacking the spousal unit's account to share my new X3MC. Just picked it up yesterday. Replaced a 2016 Macan Turbo with it. The Macan was coming out of warranty & had some issues while we had it, so we were concerned about its long term reliability.

We considered ordering a new Macan Turbo, but decided that we'd explore other options for now. We've had many BMWs over the years & Hubs has an X5M right now, but I wanted something a bit smaller for a daily driver. The X3 seems to fit the bill well.

I wanted this color & did not want the spare tire hump, so it took a while to find the right car. I'm glad to come back to the family. Sorry for the wonky pics. Not sure how to fix that.

Thanks for the fix!

I'm looking for a sunshade for the windshield. Would appreciate recommends. I've got my Macan sunshade in there now. Not a great combo!

Thanks. Love the color combo. I loved the Macan's lines. It has a beautiful full leather interior, which I really think the X3M should have. Handling & torque were fantastic, but I don't think it has anything on X3 there. I think of it more as a sporty, luxury crossover. This car seems to be a true sports SUV. I had a Remus exhaust on my Macan. That had a lovely growl to it, that I'm not hearing on the X3. I'm not missing the Macan as much as I thought I would.

I can't seem to find a setting to allow the seat to go back when I turn off the ignition. Porsche calls it comfort entry. Does the X3 have that?

Also, thanks to r33_RGSport & knepsterd for the links. Will order both items. I had a similar armrest storage gizmo in my Macan. Very handy.

I REALLY need to set up my own account here! The Hubs will be demanding his back soon. I think I'm going to go with X3MC_Biemer. I know the spelling's wrong, but our sweet dearly departed Lab was named Biemer.

Grr - still no sign-up validation email from Les Mods. I'll continue to use El Hubbo's logins until I'm validated.

Here's an image of one of our 10 year old 'Ultimate Reflector' sunshades from our previous F25 models which we've been using for our G01 and now F97 models. They aren't a perfect fit but have done the job and are great quality. This one measures 53-1/4" wide by 27-1/4 max height. On Amazon it doesn't appear they show a custom size for the G01 series (still showing just for the F25). They run in the $50-70 range it seems.

Upon seeing your question I researched online and found another highly-rated company, Tuningpros, which has one apparently designed specifically for the G01 models. I went ahead and ordered one (only $30 or so), and it should be here within the week so I'll report back to see how it fits. I'm a bit puzzled by it's measurements of 51" wide by 35" height, as that seems too different to what we're using now which is basically doing the job. We'll see when it arrives...

The 'TuningPros SS-377 Custom Fit Sunshade for the G01 series' arrived so thought I'd share the details and images. As suspected, the dimensions described on the ordering site are incorrect.

It actually measures 55" max width x 26.5" max ht, fits like a glove (unlike the old ones we've been using from the F25), and appears to be of quality construction considering it's about 1/2 the cost of the Ultimate Reflector. It weighs 493 g, whereas the older Ultimate Reflector weighs 550 g.

Sunshade...not a problem we often have in the UK. I'm envious.

I’m not aware of that feature on the X3.

I had that “feature” on my 2003 Maxima and it was the worst thing I ever experienced.

I tend to exit cars quickly and with the seat in motion as I was getting out of it I almost face planted.

I ran back to the dealer to disable it.

Perhaps Porsche does it better or maybe I’m just too quick

Thanks for being my guinea pig - will order. The BMW Parts Pros one doesn't fit. It's too tall for the sun visors to fold over, so I'm having to return it.
