Spoke to a dealer today who said that there is going to be a software update for ID6 and 7 which will enable Droid auto?

Anybody else heard this? If so, bring it on.....and sooner please!!

From what I understood from the BMW press release, yes Android auto will be fitted on some late 2020 & 2021 MY's being built from July 2020 on.

There was some assumptions about updating prior ID7 cars but nothing about ID6. That would be great for X3M owners that want it.

The hope is the update would be available "Over the Air" for current ID7 users.

I thought that I read, there is Android auto software / files in certain ID6 systems, but can not confirm.

In my opinion, the knowledgeable people at the dealerships are few and far between. There are some, which make the experience better but rare.

I can imagine a lot of new X3M owners who use Android would be upset.

I still don't get why the flagship X3M didn't get ID7

Are you sure aboit the ID6 part? I don’t see why they couldn’t add it to connected drive store to download.. at the end of the day there is 4g connectivity and carplay was also possible to download...let’s see how it goes, I don’t have high hopes to be honest but you never know..
