What’s this bolt near gearbox sump that I just tightened (pic included)
Hi I was under my 2008 e92 320d. And I noticed this little torque bolt near the oil sump (pic attached). It had a drip of oil around it so I got a bit worried and tightened it up because it was a bit loose.
Was it meant to be loose? Should it have a bit of drip |

No bolt is meant to be loose, especially that one.
And of course there should be no oil leak anywhere. Clean up the area thoroughly and check again in a day. This could be from a leaking oil pan or coming down from valve cover. |
