Recently I am getting a new issue when starting up the car.....I press the startup button and the car starts but immediately stalls and engine cuts off.....I press the start button again and then all is fine........anyone have this or any ideas?

Same exact problem.

Happened to me tonight ... drove 10 miles .... watched my son's basketball game ... about an hour and a half later I started the car and it died ... tried again and started right away.

This has been happening for about 6 months and always as described above.

I've discussed it briefly with my SA but have not taken the car in.

And mine. Seems like very occasionally the starter tries to turn over that big boy and just says fuggedaboutit.

I have the same issue. I've talked to the M tech at my local dealer who said that he's seen it happening on 3 other F90s. Apparently something is wrong with the fuel pump not pumping sufficient gas at start up.

He had to change one on another F90 as it happened way too often. Apparently the issue still remains and the customer is trying to lemon law the vehicle. Fuel pump is not an easy change either as they have to take out the back seat to get to it, sounds like more than one day of work.

I don't mean to scare anyone and I'm no expert, but it's worth sharing. I have no performance issue with my vehicle when it happens and seems like it's only at start up. It doesn't happen often enough for me to bring it in and go through the hassle. Perhaps have them check it next time you're in for service. However, apparently the issue is very common so it wouldn't surprise me if they do a recall.

Problem is that yes it was occasional say one time per month but now its twice per week.....so will call dealer to see if they have a known fix

I was wondering about this myself. I'd say it happens about 1 out of every 15 starts for me. Like others have said, its not worth another trip to the dealership though.

Not sure it’s anything more than a intermittent issue. We shall see.

I had this issue. They replaced 2 High pressure fuel pumps and that still didn't fix it, so they replaced a low pressure fuel pump. I was told to run 2-3 tanks of gas with NO ethanol and then back to normal. hasn't happened to me since.

How long was it in dealership for the low pressure pump replacement? Do you know if the back seats had to be removed?

I do... It has not happened since.

Same here. Also seeing multiple Cranks before starting as well as it starting, then sounding like it’s about to shut off and catches itself and stays on. Service tomorrow and will see

Same here, but never more than 2 cranks to start.

Happened to me three times today alone . Before today happened less than 5 times. Not sure if it was the fuel that I last used at the last fill up (Shell 91 octane, best we got here in Cali)

ok so I tried the Lucas injector cleaner and so far hasnt happened in 1 week......will wait another few weeks to report back but so far looking good
