M Performance Parts

For anybody on the fence about the M Performance parts, give the official channels on eBay a go. bmwbluebellcrewe seem to be accepting offers.

I just got a splitter for £440 (RRP £640) and the side skirts for £310 (RRP £582)!

I'd been watching their listings for a while and all of a sudden they put out an offer to anybody watching the side skirts for £325 but after 20 minutes they cancelled it.

So I offered £310 and they accepted the next day.

The splitter they were a little more hard ball and only accepted £440 Vs the £450 list price which is already really bloody good!

This may be a silly question but can you get these parts fitted on a factory order?
I'm guessing not so my next question is, do the parts fit existing holes so no drilling required? I'd be looking to put these on the M340i touring I'm going to order on PCP. If no drilling I can remove them at the end of term if I don't keep it.

I might be wrong but if you order with the car the dealer usually fits the parts once it has arrived with them. Adding genuine accessories won't effect your PCP

Was that for a pair of skirts or single?

I'll be looking to get the front splitter and side skirts for my m340i touring when I order it. Do these use tape and existing screw holes for fixing?

I expected the same, Sytner won't fit a M Performance grill as they think it is not the correct fitment for my car...

It will fit as far as I'm aware but I suspect they won't fit it as it's not model correct.

I’m sure most of us are aware of the need to notify our insurance company of ANY modification or cosmetic embellishments but this article should be heeded as a warning and reminder of the ways insurance companies will try to wriggle out of a claim

Thats exactly what I thought. Will get it done elsewhere.
Maybe local DL dealers or BMW approved bodyshop may fit it for me - I can fit it myself but rather it doesn't screw up any warranty.

@Vossy - agree but my company insurance covers all risks no need to inform.

Front splitter should be bonded on the side and screwed underneath near the number plate and in the existing fixings on either end of the bumper.

Side skirts have 14 holes underneath each skirt, these should be riveted and also bonded the whole side. If you remove this part afterwards I think you may see some of the holes from an angle as the front part of the skirts are thinner at one end.

Rear spoiler relies on tape or adhesive.

Diffuser clips into original bumper mounts and uses existing screw holes.

I have fitted all these parts myself and used tape where possible as I was thinking of removing the items if I sell. I believe the correct way is to fit as per Bmw's instructions to be honest, it's just nice to know tour kit is fitted the same as the manufacturer would but that's just my opinion.

For what it's worth I think the kit transforms the car, I had my 791m wheels powder coated gloss black and I think the car looks amazing.

The instructions on fitting and bonding etc are BMW's not mine by the way.

Front splitter is more than secure using the existing M sport bolts and supplied rivets and screws.. Sod using Betalink if you want to sell them at any point!

The side skirts use 14 rivets each side and aint going anywhere

Have you fitted the side skirts on your car? I have dry fitted them and while the rivets will keep the parts in place I found the upright section doesn't push completely flat, I used some 3m tape but you can see about 1mm of the tape thickness, I think that's where the beta link comes into it. Like you say though, removing it...............beast!

Thanks all. I'll probably fix in place with some strong double sided tape to like it all up and then drill and rivet. I'll leave the glue so the option of removing is there. Leaving holes isn't ideal though but I'll most likely keep the car at the end of the PCP anyway so not really a problem.

I've tried this with the 3m moulding tape and it's not an ideal job in my opinion. I was trying to use the tape method as I wanted to remove the parts if I sold the car as the skirts were expensive, i realised afterwards that the 14 screw holes underneath are really visible when you remove the parts so I used the beta link bonding method, they are now fitted tight to the side of the car and I'm much happier. I also used some masking tape to hold the skirts up and left it on overnight, it pulled them into a really tight position if you're going to do this I would suggest doing this 👍

The matte black lip spoiler looks awful unpainted. Just saw one today at a dealer. Why would BMW sell such an accessory? Name: 93379F77-A397-4BE5-90B5-7963529B4E97.jpg

Yes it makes no sense to have anything other than gloss black on those cars. I have the carbon version but it still looks different to the rest of the car, the carbon is cool though but I would have taken the same shape black gloss version if they made one.......
