Bimmercode After X1 Firmware Update

I went in for service and they updated the firmware in the car. My coding got lost, so I tried to recode.

Bimmercode now only shows a few ecu's that can be coded. I can't even disable the Navigation Disclaimer Warning message.

Do you update Bimmercode to the latest version? Which OBD2 adapter do you use ? Try to report this issue to Bimmercode. They will help you.

I don't know about E-Sys, as I don't and would rather not use it.

I just emailed Bimmercode to see if they can do anything to enable more ecu's.

Hello.

You should check the I-LEVEL by touching the car icon at the bottom left of the BimmerCode menu.

Thank you

I don't get the same Bimercode screen. I am running Android version.

Bimmercode emailed me back that I have to send support request from the app itself. I just sent it, which includes some log files, and will wait to see what they say.

Interesting....does that imply that BMW detects that some modules have been changed after-market, and then locks those?

Then Bimmercode developers have to 'break in' to those again...?

I dunno. Being an I.T. guy, I doubt the firmware update detects changes and just overwrites what is there. Even ecu's I did not change have now been locked from Bimmercode. My guess is that BMW change some things enough that Bimmercode has to be updated accordingly.

Okay, everyone ...

I upgraded to the latest BimmerCode version today and downloaded the new data. Ecu's now enabled and recoded to disable the Navigation Disclaimer Warning message.

BommerCode rocks!

Glad to hear it in case our X1 gets updated by the dealer in the future. I made over 30 coding changes and it'd be a pain to have to go back to the way it was on delivery. Thanks for following up.
