Shocking engine sound linked interference on sound system

Driving this morning and merrily listening to Spotify, when all of a sudden, interference began over the music and sat-nav directions, and it was linked in time and tone to the engine note.

Changing the 'engine sound' to 'reduced' mode lessened the interference, but the audio was unlistenable (I have the HK speakers). I stopped, rebooted iDrive but it made no difference. Turned off the audio completely and the interference went.

When I later stopped, parked up, got out and locked the car for 5 minutes then restarted, the intereference was gone completely.

Has anyone else had this issue?

Yes, I’ve had it once months ago.
A friend of mine has also had it in his 8 series.
I don’t think it’s much to worry about.
