Bird Crap **HELP!!!**

SO i decided to take the car to work today. Everything's cool till about 4pm, nothing wrong, car still in top notch look, and around 5pm to check on it, and i see a bird crap on my roof....

and it's so freaking hot out in CA during that hour, I think the crap dryed up real fast, and caked on, so as soon as I saw it, I got some warm water and decided to clean it up a bit.. but uh..... i guess it was caked on pretty good, so I kind of chipped away at it... and now i have small swirl mark and the damn crap has like seared into my clear coat or something. looks like it cooked on my roof.

I got to my buddy's house, and decided to try to buff and polish it out,.. the swirl mark is better, but the seared /cooked part is bleamishing my clear coat.

What can I do? I'll post up pic in a little bit.

Edit: Added picture.... in the center.... of the shot, i guess i'll have to take better picture during day time, as it's pretty dim and flash is too much.

It's dosn't really look like it's noticeable, but during day time you can pretty spot it at any angle, is there any detailing product that would clean this up pretty good or anyone recommand a really good detailer in Southern California? (I should have it detailed any ways)

with all the technology in the world, you'd think they'd be able to make a car paint that can hold up to bird shit. i don't get it...

Car paint is now water based, so i guess is even weaker than before.

I had a similar incident with my Jet Black e46 M3. I finally polished it out with my Makita rotary polisher (I usually use a Porter Cable DAP) using Meguiars #83 (DACP) with a Meguiar's red cutting pad. It took a while but in the end all was well.

Clay won't hurt but I don't think it will do the job. It's never worked on birdshit for me. I wish I had good advise, but I think I would take it to a pro detailer too. Sorry, I don't live in CA so I can't recommend anyone. Good luck.

I think birds shit on cars and windows intentionally. When was the last time you saw bird shit on the ground (except in places where people actually would sit)? That's right, never. It's a conspiracy! War against the BIRDS!!!!

try Zaino AIO. it works very well for me.
if Z-AIO doesn't work Z-PC should. i was in a similar situation last week and Z-AIO got rid of almost everything. i'm sure Z-PC would have done the job but it looked fine enough for me. a few more detailing routines and it will be gone.

Don't worry, your paint is not destroyed. It will need to be polished by a pro, but with a little SIP or even just some 106FF, you can get that out relatively easily. Believe me - I have a black car that has to sit outside much of the time, so I can relate.

There are some excellent detailers in SoCal. Ask on the Wash & Wax Forum.

You are lucky your car it isn't black. I would use wax remover, apply a coat of good polish, and a good wax after.
That is what I used to do. In time, if you keep apply polish and wax, it will disappear slowly.
Good luck

Thanks guys, I'll try couple of advices above when I looked at it this morning, i think i might have over reacted and became over stressed over it. I'm pretty sure it'll be worked out. Thanks again!

I think it'd be wise idea if i plan to bring to work often to purchase a good car cover. and carry one of thoes remover stuff around in trunk
