March 2006 BMW Group Sales Report
BMW Group vehicle sales this March increased a rousing 16.8% when compared to March, 2005. YTD BMW Group sales were also up 10.8% over first quarter sales of 2005.
Sales of the 7 Series jumped 77.5% and sales of the 3 and 5 Series were both up over 33% when compared to last March. Sales of the BMW brand were up 21.6% over last March. This month BMW outsold Mercedes-Benz by 3,084 units but still undersold Lexus by 3,091 units. Last November I added a complete report for Lexus as I believe that their new IS250 and IS350 models is going to give the BMW 3 Series a real challenge this year. February sales of the Lexus IS250 and IS350 were below 4,000 units while the new E90 3 Series sedans totaled 7,500 units. March was a different story as the Lexus IS250/350 sales reached 5,210 units while 3 Series sedan sales increased to only 7,956 units. Please visit my website for the complete Lexus and Mercedes-Benz sales reports. Please note that I only report the United States sales data. |

If Lexus didn't have the RX 330-350 it would have less sales than Infinity.
In the Lexus truck column, 2/3 if sales are the RX (from memory). Note that Luxus sells less cars than MB, and that's with a clapped out C Series and long-in-the-tooth Eclass. |
