A couple of years ago my son ran my E46 M3 hard into a curb and bent the sub frame. It cost $2500 for a new sub frame. I noticed when I drove around a sharp curb that my car actually slid out because the wheel was bent inward.

Yes. Or at least a reputable body shop. I'm not understanding what you mean by the wheel bar, though.

Maybe you can post up a couple of pictures for us, one in profile and one longitudinally down the side from the back with the wheel/tire visible (maybe a foot above the roadway). Then folks would be better able to see what you're writing about and give their best guess.

I don't really know the steps, I know I have to to get it appraised first at bmw, but what should I tell them? I have DSC and Break Malfuctions and my wheel is bent toward the inner car... Will these be under the warranty? or I'll have to go through insurance?

No, it will not be covered under warranty. If you bought the wheel and tire warranty they might be covered but, the suspension won't be. Depending on the level of damage you may be better off to pay it out of pocket than go through insurance. Take the car to BMW immediately. If you can see that the wheel is not pointed straight ahead you have done a good bit of damage and will also destroy your tire(s) if you continue to drive it like that if they aren't already from the impact. The other possibility is the bead of the wheel is bent from the impact. This might be what you are calling the "wheel bar" and only a section of the wheel is bent maybe not the suspension. In this case you might be lucky and only get away with a new wheel and tire. |

Warranty is for things that break that shouldn't, not things that you broke by smashing into things. That's what insurance is for. Call your local dealership. Tell them you hit a something with your right rear wheel and the car will be coming in for repair. Tell them you would like an estimate before any work is done. Then call a towing company and ask them what it would cost to have your car towed from where ever it is to which ever dealership you called. Repeat with a few other towing companies if you don't like the price. |
