Any tall guys out there that drive a 335i?
I’m 6’5” tall, around 215lbs. I’ve driven an 03’ Mini Cooper S for the last 8 years…..for as small as they look, it’s actually got more interior roof for us tall guys than just about any other small car.
I recently picked up a nice used 07’ 335i as a “fun” car….not sure if I’ll keep the mini or not at this point. I love the power of the N54…..but damn, no matter how I adjust the seat…..I just feel cramped in this 335i. My knees feel like they are always in the dash….it has a much smaller and tigher feel than my Mini Cooper. Will I get used to it eventually….or are these 335i’s just not made for tall guys?

I am 6'4" and 280lbs and I have plenty of room in mine, not sure how your knees feel close to the dash or you feel crammed in there lol. Play with the seat adjustments, and fyi you can raise or lower the seat, so ensure yours is lowered all the way down too .

Both my father and I have one (6'3 and 6'4) and there is more than enough room. Both of us are very "lanky" and for us the seat isn't all the way back; Which has to be a first.
Also dropping the seat bottoms all the way down gets us a bunch of headroom. |

6'7" 300lbs in my e90 6mt. Have manual seats (sit lower) and it works just fine. Like an above poster said, you can adjust the column to your liking as well

Yup not a problem for me. 6'3 210lbs. I must say that I drove my friends pre-lci e90 and felt a bit more cramped than I do in my lci e90. But I'm attributing that to not adjusting the seat and wheel how I want it

It's all in how you are built. Some tall guys are all legs - some are not. I'm NOT. I'm 6'2" with only a 29 inch inseam. I am built like a gorilla - all torso, massive shoulders, super long arms, no legs at all. So I have a real issue in most smaller cars with sunroofs, exacerbated by the fact that universally seats go UP as they get closer to the steering wheel. I JUST fit in my e91. Like I am vacuum packed. No legroom issues, but if I go a little long between haircuts my hair is into the headliner, and my shoulder is always against the b-pillar. Ultimately, these are rather small cars inside. Luckily the steering wheel adjusts far enough in that I can get the wheel in the right position when the seat is adjusted to get my little short legs such that I can work the clutch properly.
I'm not at all surprised the MINI is a better fit - FWD cars are usually more spacious for their size. I also have a '17 GTI and it is MUCH roomier for me than my BMW.

Back when under warranty they gave her a four door 328 loaner. I could get in and out easier. Could not live long with either. Too cramped. |

Thanks for all the info guys. I did have the seat adjusted down as far as it would go, and I've adjusted the steering wheel also. I think a big factor might be the nice seats in my 335i that have the side bolsters that squeeze the heck out of your ribs. I let some air of them, that helped a little....not as "tight" feeling any more. I still only have around an inch or so of head room....not sure what I can do about that.
Overall...I think it's just taking me a while to get used to it. It's a world of difference compared to my mini. I will say one thing.......having double the power, and probably triple the torque of the mini at low rpms is awesome!!!

6'1 with plenty of legroom. You gotta lower the seat height and slide it back. Make sure steering wheel column is also adjusted. I fit with ease and it's comfortable.
