Upgrades after front end accident
So my wife smashed front end, hit the pole on the parking lot. And since front bumper is gone anyway I'd like to get m number installed instead of regular. How do I go about it with insurance? Do I order it and give it to the shop and then give all the receipts to the insurance or I talk to the shop nicely and ask them for what I want?

I would have the insurance do their inspection, estimate and then take it to the shop of your choice. Only then tell the shop that you want a Sport bumper. The BMW bumper should be about what insurance pays while the aftermarket will be less, so maybe add a lip or splitters for the total of what insurance pays.

The shop can order from the dealership or you can buy online from an aftermarket seller. Look at the forum sponsors or search online.

Just tell the shop you take it to what you want and it should be around the cost of what insurance is covering, if not less. If it is more, they could easily file an amended claim to cover it. I doubt a FRP M-Sport bumper would cost more than what insurance is paying to replace it though.
