BMW Luggage Compartment Liner /Tray/Mat if you have spare tire option

If your car is equipped with a spare tire do not bother ordering Rubber Fitted Luggage Compartment Mat - BMW (51-47-2-461-166)

It doesn't fit and BMW currently is not offering a version for the car's equipped with emergency spare.

I wanted to document this to prevent from others making the same mistake. I am sure there will be a different version soon for folks with a spare tire.

Following up......

I went to the dealer to to see what options those of us with spare tires have with regards to trunk mat.

I was told that WeatherTech indeed makes a mat for our cars and BMW currently shows nothing in the system.

Hope this helps some folks.

Part number is 51 47 7 438 290 for the carpeted floor liner. I removed my spare and all the other junk and this part fit perfectly. Usable trunk again! It was about $300.

You are referring to trunk floor / carpet and my thread is about the plastic liner that protects it.

I specifically custom built this car with non-runflats and a spare tire. Definitely not getting rid of my spare tire.

So did I. Runflats suck. I have never had a flat, only a slow leak in 20 years of driving. If I get one during ownership, there is bmw included towing for that. Small inconvenience for many years of having a useful trunk.

I get your point and that is not the intend of this thread. Folks have their own opinions having a spare or no spare. Let us know when you are on a road trip out in bumble f on a holiday weekend and get stuck on the side of a road with a unrepairable flat tire and how responsive BMW is. Been there done that and no thanks.

I wanted to provide info on the trunk liner for folks with spare tire. You are free to start a thread about your opinion on what to do with a spare to make more use of the trunk.

Here's the link to the WeatherTech option. Considering it myself.

Here's the WeatherTech liner in the trunk (w/spare). It's still a little curled on the ends from being rolled in the box but a perfect fit otherwise.
