328i LCI won't start
I was rear ended on Friday night when I went looking for my dogs that escaped my backyard that night. It wasn't a hard strong impact. The chick behind me was stopped behind me and distracted. She thought i moved forward and so did she. She must've hit me at maybe 1 MPH. I got home, turned the car off and didn't need it again until 3 days later. I noticed both windows were down about 1 inch. Tried starting the car but no juice, not even any crank at all, just a quiet click coming from the starter location. I went to Autozone to charge my battery, fully charged but had them charge it anyway. Came home to try again but still nothing. I put it on my scanner and got the code for the starter but i did read somewhere that code may come up if the BST is no longer attached.
Could that small impact have made the BST (battery safety terminal) explode? It exploded once in my Z4M (and I didn't crash) and the mess it made at the battery's positive terminal was very obvious. For the 328i, I don't see any gooey stuff or any sort of explosion, it almost looks intact but there is a small gap on the BST. I did try removing the IBS and that didn't work. I just bought a starter but I'm not sure if you guys can tell if my BST below is the culprit. Thanks in advance!
