Anyone using 19" OEM Runflats?

I am considering getting the 19" Style 230 wheels on my 09 E93. If anyone is running these please describe the ride. I know what the
18" RFTs are like and am interested in how much firmer the 19s will be. I'll probably swap out the RFTs after a while but I really like the wheels and it is worth the extra $1K just to get the wheels.

I would have done the same but it wasn't available at the time. For 1k that is a bargain. When you do receive your car and it does not meet your expectations you can easily sell it on ebay for more than what you paid for. Alot of people here enjoy the upgrade of a 19" set of rims.

They are great. The RFTs work for me also. I have driven on worse tyres...

runflats are stiff, they have no performance what so ever, theyre just for really long trips sense you have no spare.

Any chance I will get another brand of tires other than Bridgestone? I would be really happy if my 09 comes with Michelin RFT tires. I understand BMW is using them now in addition to BS and Conti.

I think the PS2 RFT's are only showing up on some cars with the 18" wheels. I don't think Michelin makes the right size for the 19" wheels.

99% certain you will be getting bridgestone potenzas. bridgestone is the only OEM that makes the proper 19" RFT sizes for that application.

pirelli and michelin only have 18" applications. conti only OEMs (for now) all season 17" tires.

The only OEM tires for 19" wheels are Bridgestone Potenza RE050A.

I have them on my style 230s, and they are awfully stiff, have not enough grip nor wet performance. I'll be replacing them with standard Michelin PS2 rubber ASAP.

The standard PS2s ride great on the 230's. About the same firmness as the OEM runflats on the 189 wheels. Honestly I didn't notice a ride difference between the two. On the other hand, the roads here are awfully smooth. Might be different in other regions where the roads are subject to real weather...

Whatever RFTs come on my 09, I'll run them until they are about half worn and then I'll switch out for set of Michelin PS2s. I took a bath when I sold my last set and my new car is a purchase not a lease so I don't have to worry about having RFTs on it when I trade or sell.

I think Tischer has them for $1600, set of 4.

You guys are lucky you're near enough to Tischer to pick them up. Circle BMW was willing to sell them last year when I got my car, but they wouldn't ship them. My local dealer found a set and matched the online price. Selling the stock wheels/RFTs made it a little less painful, but it still wasn't cheap, especially wrapping them in new non-RFT PS2's

How would you describe the ride difference with 19" non RFTs as compared to 18" rfts?

I am running the RFT on my 19" BMW Performance Rims and, to be honest, I think that they feel about the same as my 18" ones. They are just as noisy and stiff as the 18's too.

They are the Potenza RE050A.

Thanks, if they are not any worse than the 18" RFTs, I'll probably run mine for a while until they are about half worn out. I sure like the looks of the Style 230 wheels.

When you do finally choose to take off the runflats, I highly recommend getting PS2s in 235/265 sizing. Fits the wheels perfectly, slightly wider for a better stance too.

Plus 1 to 135 pictures with 230s!!
