E92 headlight washer cover
I don’t have the headlight washers but had one of my covers fall out after hitting a pothole. Are they supposed to just snap into place? I can’t imagine it working any other way and it looks like the back is completely intact. Despite trying to push it in (bottom first and top first) I’ve had no success. I can only find info and videos when it involves the washer but nothing when it doesn’t.
Thanks. |

It only attaches to the headlight washer itself. They twist on and off.
Pull the whole unit up with your hand then plastic body part on the end twists on and off. |

Not sure if some people aren’t actually reading my posts but I do not have the washers which is why I said all the videos and existing threads I’ve found haven’t been helpful.
Whether it was to save money on the production line and/or give people the option to install them at a later time, BMW used the same front bumper on cars not manufactured with the washers. I personally think it was a poor decision because I cant imagine people are deciding they need that feature after purchasing a car without it and I doubt people are passing on the feature solely because they’re short on funds at the time of purchase. For me it is simply an 2 extra parts that are unnecessary which can come loose as mine did and leave a noticeable tacky hole. Luckily I saw the cover bounce out and was able to retrieve it or it would be just another car expense to deal with. BMW had to conclude that reducing bumper variation was the easiest way to cut production cost. |

I hit a pothole and saw the cover fly off. My car does not have headlight washing. I bought a new cover and painted it myself with some paint matched spray paint. It’s about 90% color matched now so I’m satisfied. The cover clicked in no problem.
