Logging options

Hey all,

Does anyone know of an android or PC app that can be used for data logging other than bm3 and MHD?

Either using a Bluetooth connection, enet or K+dcan cable.

Particularly interested in target boost and measured boost. Suspecting boost leak as I'm maxing out at about 10psi with FBO and Stage 2 tune.

Was running MHD OTS Stage2+ 93 octane tune.

Since then got a custom tune from a local tuner.

Made 225rwkw on MHD tune, then 235rwkw on custom tune an hour later.

So why not just use the logging feature through MHD?

Because I didn't purchase the logging licence and not planning to if I'm no longer using the tune.

If there is an alternative (either free or paid) and it does similar to what MHD or BM3 can provide logging wise then would be great.

How are you flashing the current or future tunes??

Might as well buy the looking license through MHD and always have the ability to know how your car is performing!

Unless you are solely looking for a free way to log.

I am going to suggest a Foxwell NT520 (or whatever the newest version is now) hand held scanner, it's pretty basic but you can graph two pids. It's not free but it's a lot more flexible than an MHD scan license, it will work on all BMW's and you can buy different brands if you want to.

You can use Torque (Android APP) to graph boost, but I don't think you can graph the target boost unless you decode and figure out the custom PID for the DME, which is why logging solutions are free, they are work to figure out. Torque will work with USB or Bluetooth, but I have never gotten it to work with my KCAN cable just BT dongles.

You could also put together an ISTA+ solution with a K-CAN or Ethernet cable. They cost the price of the cable (which I bet you have right) and the time to download and follow the instructions.

You can buy a add-on to TorquePro that can do realtime graphs.
