E66 running rich and idling rough with Fuel injector rail, pressure sensor signal

(Sorry for posting this here. I don't see much activity in 7-series forums)

Hello,

My 760Li has been running rough and rich. We are getting the following DME code:

0029E2 DME Fuel injector rail, pressure sensor signal

Using ISTA, we saw that the rail pressure for DME2 is as follows:

Setpoint: 3Mpa

Actual:3Mpa+/-0.1

For DME1, they are as follows:

Setpoint: 3Mpa

Actual: 0.8Mpa+/-.1

We replaced the diaphragms for the HPFP and replaced the rail pressure sensor for bank 1 and reset the engine adaptations using ISTA. It did not solve the problem.

What is puzzling for me is that after clearing all the codes with ignition on and the engine off, I read back the codes with ISTA and I see 0029E2 as active even though I did not start the car. Any ideas as to what may be wrong?

BTW, we had intermittent no-start problem. We traced it back to a broken soldier joint on the IVM module and replaced the IVM. The no-start issue is solved. In addition, we had the battery tested and it turned out to be healthy without any problems.

Thanks
