The blower motor itself would never get replaced as part of the recall.

Just the wire connector got replaced on mine.

I got rid of the whine by spraying white lithium grease generously on the fan shaft.

They also didn't change my motor. At the most, they'd replace the FSR.

yes thats the whole reason behind this post. my blower motor stopped working so i took it out and emptied half can of litium grease on the entire thing just sprayed every where inside outside and now my car smells like litium grease. its working now and no more squeeky noise but for how long?

Final Stage Resistor. It's the thing your wires plug into. It controls the speed of the fan. If they area is burned or charred they'lll probably replace it.

You might want to request they lube the blower motor while it's out. It's worth a shot.

Rather than blowing white lithium grease all over it, I’d suggest some pneumatic tool oil right on the shaft where it enters the bearing. I had tried silicone lube, Teflon, etc, but oil was the only thing that seemed to last.

Yes. Had it done this past month (8/1/2019) on my 2010 E92 335i.
Inspection found wiring discolored and performed stage 2 repair the following according to my invoice.
1. Repair Type 2 check harness and install short repair cable
2. Replacement cable heater
3. Blower regulator

Yes. I had the recall done at BMW of San Diego. However, it was the blower motor harness, not the blower motor itself. I am not aware of a recall for the actual motor.

I did silicone spray and it did nothing. Well it stopped whining for 2 days but returned with a vengeance. Lithium grease has worked well so far, about 5 months.
