would you consider aftermarket rims/new tires a mod?
lets say you have a perfectly good stock car. then you get some new rims/tires.
what costs would you categorize as a "mod" versus "maintenance/repair"? personally, i would say the mod includes: rims, tires, mount balance, alignment, gas to get to the alignment shop. however, i have a friend that just counts the rims as a mod. this is assuming mods add 0 resale value to your car. its more for expense tracking purposes. so, whats say you? |

going from staggered to square changed how my car drives and behaves completely. I was running 235/35/19 fronts 275/35/19 rears to 255/35/18 square on much lighter wheels and now my car handles bumps and turns in corners a lot better. I did lose that straight line traction but the change was worth it.

Well a mod to me is modification. And if those wheels didn't come with the car, then I'd say it's a mod.
I agree with Serf27 . You'll need gas, an alignment, and tires at some point either way. Unless you bought the tires for track or drag use, then I could see how that could be considered a mod.
