E90 Double Din Flush Fitment Trimming

I have been looking into adding a double din into my e90 for car play functionality, obviously with the aftermarket units like Eonon and bezels for double din the bottom does not sit flush and sticks out a bit - i have seen some people mention they have gotten it to sit flush by trimming. What exactly is being trimmed for it to sit flush?

I will only install a double din if i can get it to sit flush, as it will bug me if it doesn't. Does anyone have experience with this? Thanks in advance

Never heard of anyone getting the Dynavin clones to fit flush.
The newer dynavins fit flush because they don't have a dvd/cd
player. I believe all the other off brands copys of the original dynavin
form suffer from this.

There is a stereo sub forum here also.

I am actually looking to install a double din such as Apline, Pioneer, etc. Those all seem to suffer from the same issue. Seems like its because the climate controls are pushed further down causing them to hit something in the dash?

That's a pretty accurate way to state it. To get a double-DIN in the dash, you have to push the climate control module down to the point where the bottom of the adapter will hang slightly below the dash or you wouldn't have enough plastic around the module to be structurally adequate. Systems like the Dynavin aren't necessarily limited to double-DIN dimensions so they can potentially make it work. I agonized over this for a while since I wanted a really stock look, but I went ahead with the AI BMWK320 adapter. It does hang down a bit, but frankly, I never notice it. Here's a closeup, sorry about the debris. YMMV.

It's a Pioneer MVH2300NEX, but I don't think it matters much - the different brands all seem pretty similar and interchangeable.

That is actually the same double din bezel i have been looking at, did you have to trim anything to get that fit? I don't mind as much if it hangs down a bit, but what i don't want is it to be visually angled out at the bottom like the Metra kits seems to do. Thanks for uploading the picture, that is an angle i have been looking to see.
