Questions on 2020 Build

I'm a long time 6 and 7 owner, and just ordered my first x5 -- a M50i. Some questions I have for those with more knowledge than I:
  • From old X5 threads, I understand that DHP is the nuts and not to be missed. For 2020, however, the only way to get DHP is to order the M50i. So, what do you think? Is it work the extra 8-9k?

What about the acoustic glass? It's gone up in price from the '19s to $600 -- what are the benefits and is it value for money?

How about the Driving Assistance Professional Package? If you don't get it, can you get cruise control (even if it isn't ACC)?

What about the 2nd axle air suspension? My spouse is a bit on the short side -- does it really make it easier for a 5 footer to get in and out with a tight skirt on?

Here's the build currently scheduled for week 39, which I presume is 3rd week of September.
  • M50i Phytonic Blue
    Coffee Extended Marino Leather
    Driving Assistant Professional Package
    Luxury Seating Package
    2 axle air suspension
    Dynamic Handling Package
    Executive Package
    Trailer Hitch
    Acoustic Glass
Heated Front Seats and Steering Wheel

Thanks for any insight -- I still have time to adjust...

BTW, I'm located in Colorado and this will be my car for commuting to the mountains.

Mike

I could be wrong, but I'm not sure you can order Dynamic Handling Pack with 2 Axle air...someone may want to confirm this.

That's my understanding too. Do you have a VIR showing both OP?

Air suspension does make it much easier to get in/out unless your 5'10" or so. Using the number "2" seat position for full down helps too.

There’s absolutely no way to program the air suspension to driver profile. In/out will be a pain without the running board.

My understanding is that the air suspension height cannot be programmed. You can manually lower the car to the lowest setting to exit. It will stay there until the car starts up again then it will automatically go back to the comfort height. You then have to manually lower it again when ready to get out.

If you are driving and exit the vehicle without lowering it, the next time you get in you have to start the car and manually lower it for your wife.

You can lower it without first starting the car. But after you've done that a few times you will remember lower when you stop; at least that's how it worked for me

You can lower it one level while driving. You can do that as you get close to where you are parking, then you only have to go down one more level to get to the bottom. I haven't quite mastered that yet but I'm getting better.

The OP has 2 axle air suspension
Dynamic Handling Package listed together, not sure this can be done.

Evidently the car cannot have both 2nd air axle and DHP. I’ve picked DHP, but will I regret it? Any answers to my other questions?

Thank you for confirming that DHP isn't compatible with 2VR axle air suspension.

ZHP will provide you with the flattest cornering X5.

2VR air suspension will deliver a comfortable ride with height adjustability though it doesn't auto lower when you stop and place the vehicle in Park. If your parking spot is flat, your wife shouldn't have issues getting in at the standard height. I'm personally going 2VR for height adjustment - due to being short along with my English Bulldog (lol), park on an incline - but can firm up the air suspension ride with Sport or Sport + mode.

In the end, it depends on what you'd like to prioritize.

.
You can also firm up the suspension a bit just by lowering the level one notch below middle.

That's what SPORT Driving Experience Control switch does - lowers air suspension by -20mm (if equipped with 2VR), or you can use the air suspension toggle. Two ways to reach SPORT level
