Shaky Wheel

Hey all,

So I have a 2013 328i xdrive lowered 1in with Dinan springs. Had a set of TSW wheels on them for a year or so with no problems whatsoever. I am upgrading cars and today, I swapped back to the stock wheels on the 328 and now when I go over ~25 mph my steering wheels evenly shakes really bad. The only thing I can think of is that I somehow couldn't tighten the bolts tight enough because they are lug centric (I only had a 4 way)? Thinking about just taking it to a shop and having them tighten down every wheel and see if that makes a difference. Any input on what could be wrong is appreciated.

Thanks,
S

I dont but can you update this thread with what you find out? Im having the same issue and all my lugs are torqued to spec, and wheels have been road force balanced.

Thank you sir!

Wheels recently balanced? Missing weights? Tires are round, no flat spots?

Start simple, take off each corner. Inspect wheel, tire, weights, inflate/deflate if needed, reinstall. Then go for another drive.

My other wheels apparently had unnecessary hub centric rings on them. They were stuck on the hubs and I couldn't tighten the lugs all the way down. Once I forcefully removed the plastic rings, the lugs tightened down and the shaking stopped.

Glad you figured it out. I forgot all about rings. I always make sure to buy wheels that don't need them. I was switching out the snow wheels to oem wheels on my daughter's car and broke two rings. I need to order new ones before winter hits.
