Getting M2C vs waiting for M2 CS
Just did a test drive in the M2C yesterday at a local dealership... wow this car is amazing.
As title states, I'm really debating if I should pull the trigger on a 2020 M2C now or wait till the announcement of M2CS at the end of this year. I will not be in the country for around 4 month (Dec-Mar) because of personal reasons so if I get the M2C now I will not be able to drive it for 4 month. I know that the M2CS is not officially announced yet so I am just looking for suggestions, would you pull the trigger now or wait for the M2CS? first post so sorry if my wording/question is a bit strange |

I would get an M2C. You will be able to tune it to the power of an M2CS for a lot less than the difference in price between the two models.
With you being out of town for four months, I would order a 2021 M2C. |

They will still be producing 2021 M2C? I hope they don't discontinue it because of the M2CS

Let's say you get the M2C, if you're building, it would come maybe September? So you drive it for two months and then leave. By then, you will have the M2CS announce and delivery will start around August. What would you do with the M2C? Trade or sell? If you're ok taking a huge lose, why not. If not, I would just wait for the CS.
I would also call some dealers and put in a deposit. My dealer had 5 people with deposits when I spoke to him a couple of months ago. He is only thinking the first 2 would have a chance. So choose a dealer that will get you closest to number 1. Honestly, I don't think a lot of people other than us forum members have their names on any lists, so you may have a chance.

For example, myself, and a friend are both interested in the M2CS. He took euro delivery of an M4 GTS, I just traded my M4 for an M3CS. I think we both stand a pretty good chance at getting one even though it's a smaller market here. |

They are only putting ppl on these lists to create artificial scarcity
There are a lot of m3cs and m4cs sitting in showrooms, not alot of ppl buying these brand new as the price is a significant jump, my guess is in Canada it will be 100k-105k msrp without ceramic brakes, which add on another 10k |

I'm pretty sure here in Canada, I'd be able to buy new M4CS for under 100k cad by the end of this summer.
I'm hoping for dealers they sell them before the M2CS comes out because its going to look weird price wise lol.

Buy the M2C. I had the same split decision before I ordered/bought mine earlier this year and I'm so thankful I did because I am able to customize the car how I want it to be and also didn't have to spend $20+k on the "same" car.

the difference between a 718 GTS and a 718 GT4 is totally different than the difference between an M4 ZHP and an M4cs.

There will be M2CS for sale as soon as they come in just with a dealer markup - just like how you can easily buy a GT2RS if you pay over MSRP at a dealer today. Chances are the CS will sit around just like the M3/4 CS is today. Dealers love to grow hype and get free interest free deposits from potential customers. Artificial rarity at work. |

The current 2 series platform and F87 are coming up on end of production and replacement. Paying a huge premium for a CS will be a mistake unless around $20k is a rounding error for you.
Based on the M3/M4 CS, it's probable that there will be minimal performance increase. If you don't care about value or cost, then get the CS. If you want a good car now, just buy the M2C. |

I just bought a 2020 M2C... it's great!!! However, if I was going to spend another $20K I probably would be in a different car. At the M2C's price point it was the winner for me.
Sounds like the new M2CS will be more track focused which does not appeal to me. If you are looking for a track car then maybe wait. |

To be honest, $60K for an M2C is a stretch of the financial imagination for me, since it's still just a basic low-rent 2-series. Love the car but under no illusions. I would have a really hard time justifying $80K for a 2-series.
I feel the same way about my X3 -- I thought $65K for an M40i is about the upper limit for the platform. $85K for an X3M is nuts. Some nice performance improvements but they are bolted on to the same X3 platform that starts in the $40K's. |
