X3M (non-C) carbon fiber trim not available until 12/19?

I just snagged the last allocation to order a X3 M (non-comp) at BMW of Honolulu for a vehicle that will enter production this month.

After making the initial deposit, was told that the carbon fiber interior trim was not available for the X3 M until a December build. All other trims would be available. Any truth to this?

LMK if any of ya'll know, thanks!!

Did a custom order with fiber trim with week 30 production. Car is on its way to me now without delay. Maybe they've had a supply problem since then.

Suspect this is confusing the exterior CFRP trim pieces with the interior, which are reportedly delayed until Dec 2019 (heresay, not confirmed personally). There aren't any issues with the interior CFRP to my knowledge, and our week 38 build has the CFRP trim optioned.

Interesting, thanks for the heads up! Btw, was yours a C or non-C?

Thanks, this is helpful.

I will circle back with the dealership.

My order is the non-C with no carbon exterior bits and only CF option was interior. In their reach-out, my sales advisor mentioned the aluminum carbon and two other wood trims are available - hopefully, they didn't have a massive exterior/interior misunderstanding. Or perhaps supply shortage as MrItaly has mentioned...

Since the purpose of custom ordering is to spec exactly, I proposed to them to cover the cost for the AutoTecknic CF trim + install. I'm sure they could recoup half the cost by reselling the OEM trim that will come with the car, especially the Aluminum Carbon that's not offered on the 30 and 40.

This is interesting. Especially since BMW for model year 2020 allows folks who order 30i with ZM4 M Sport select the 4MC Carbon Fiber trim and M40i select.

Can anyone rep this?

Oh crap! Did not know that!

Given this, the dealer may be reluctant to move forward with the deal I proposed!!!

I'm looking at a June 1, 2019 order guide and the CF Interior Trim is available across all lines, no restrictions. X3M, X3MC, X4M, X4MC.
4MC Carbon Fibre Trim

I think the confusion could be with the Exterior CF Package
71C M Carbon Exterior Package
which is not available until (SOP 12/19) for X3M, X3MC, X4M, X4MC

OP - Did you ever get a final answer on this?
