BMW Paintwork - warranty chances

I was washing the car today and noticed on the bonnet is a mark that wouldn't come off. Upon closer inspection, it looks like in that whole area, the paint is starting to bubble and potentially come off.

I've only had the car for about 9 months, so definitely wouldn't expect paintwork issues so soon. Have always kept it clean, washed it myself, not had the car covered in seagull/eagle shit, so am surprised to see damage which doesn't look like it's caused from impact.

I'll see if I can get a better photo of it tomorrow morning so you can all see, but it's maybe the size of a fingernail.

Has anyone (preferably UK based but worldwide would be keen to hear your thoughts also) had any dealings with BMW re: paintwork? What's the process like usually and do they just replace/respray the whole panel, or try to touch it up. I would have thought it'd look pretty shit if the whole panel isn't done - luckily it's an easy to remove one like the bonnet...
