Regarding rhino ramps and jack stands
Hi, I have a 2009 328i sedan. I need to get under there and am wondering the following. If I have the front of the car on rhino ramps, will I have enough height to place jack stands under the jack pads behind each front wheel. I am looking for an extra measure of protection. Ramps seem easier than jacking the car up via the 'steel box section' shown in the picture as the recommended jacking point. Thank you all so much - Scott in Fort Lauderdale

It is not a height issue. The ramp part is in the way and you won't have room to get jack stands on the jack points. You can jack from the steel box section and set front wheels on the ramps placed backwards. Then you have room to add jack stands at jack points.
Or just roll up on ramps and put the jack stands under the sub-frame mounts. But then they probably will be in your way depending on what you are fixing. |

Not enough room for stands under the ramps, but when I jack my car I drive it onto ramps first so I can better access the front jack point, then put in the stands and pull out the ramps. It's hassle, but it works.

Get four (4) of the correct flat-top jack stands and the correct low-saddle, long-reach floor jack to reach the front center and rear center jack points. Place the stands under the four (4) plastic lift point blocks. With all four wheels off the ground the car will be the most safe to work on; which is the ultimate protection.

If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."

Leave your jack in the lifting point if possible. Have it placed under the lift point with very minimal pressure.
Take your wheels and place them under the car near the jack stands. If your jack stands fail then you'll be saved by your wheels. |

Could also get something like this to put underneath the wheels. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003ZAGPWO...xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ== |

Also, once you have the car jacked you you can reverse the Rhino ramps (slope facing forward) so that you have a backup for the jackstands. |
