I have a B58 bootmod3 stage2. Do you need to change the oem air filter for a K&N style?

I wouldn't think so. OEM air filters these days are very good and "upgraded" ones are more for noise and longevity. Also, turbocharged engines don't need the lower restriction that they have.
I am not a big fan of them, since they have oil and tend to damage maf sensors.
