E90 (PRE-LCI) seat swap and issues

Hello,

just recently I swapped seats from 2006 (pre-lci) E90 power/electric(+ heated) seats to my 2007 (pre-lci) E90 which had no power/electric but they had heat option.

I did not unplug battery in the meantime of swap, so I got error for restraint system faulty (airbag, seat belt etc..).
I am not sure if that was caused because of the swap or how.

I tried checking with that simple OBD2 scanner with Torque pro over the phone but it shows no fault codes.. even though I have error light on dashboard.

My stock seats who had options for heat and two push / pull-up keys on side to adjust seat worked fine.
Now that I swapped with new ones:

1. I got error for restraint system faulty, which doesn't show up on OBD2 scanner
2. Heating does not work on new seats
3. Extra 2 buttons which seems to be for adjusting lumbar and backrest options are not working as well

Does anyone have solution(s) for this?

I managed to fix the issue 1., cause was actually pin was folded down.

Still got issues for others:

2. I used to have heating on my stock seats and after swap, it does not seem to work even though new seats also have option for heated seats
3. Extra 2 buttons which seems to be for adjusting lumbar and backrest options are not working as well

The power supply pin for lumbar (and sometimes heat) moved after 3/07 build. You need to move the pin to get it to connect and get power.

If not mistaken, you are saying that the pins are different / some where re-located and therefore that's the reason heat and electrical buttons aren't working?

My stock basic seats had heating and without 2 electrical buttons for lumbar and backrest and without any memory options or anything such. As well these seats were in my car which year is 2007.

Now the "new" ones were taken from same chassis BMW E90 but the year of that BMW was 2006.
And the "new" ones have heating, 2 electrical buttons for lumbar and backrest but still without memory and other extra options.

As well my car has integrated heating buttons in the center, which is confusing me how come it's not working,,

That’s what he’s saying, yes.

First step is to find out the build date of your 2007. That will tell you whether this is a pin issue or something else.

The 2006 donor car is obviously a pre-2007/03 build. But if your car was built 2007/03 or later, then the pinout is different, even though the harness connectors are the same.
