Where would you say is the best place in America for bmw enthusiasts to live?

Just curious. I'm in the northeast and with the weather we have it kinda sucks. Florida? Cali?

I'd guess LA (not the state) - traffic sucks, but mountain foothills are not too far and you can have some fun on the weekend. NorCal may be good too, but comparing CLs, there're a lot more choices for used BMWs in LA. I've also read somewhere that it's easier to get the discounts from the dealers down there compared to NorCal which is flush with tech money and young tech bros paying sticker prices.

Three places:
1) NJ - BMWNA is based there, lots of customer response if you can just go to the office.
2) S. Carolina - BMW plant and racetrack/school.
3) California/desert SW. Good roads and curves.

Specifically the Scottish Highlands. Flown over the pond several times and driven the roads there. Awesome as long as you avoid the sheep roaming around freely around blind turns on single track roads!!

California in general. A lot of the big parts and tuning guys are out there. Also, Bimmerfest.

East Tennessee. I’m in Maryville, which is about so miles from the Dragon and 40 miles from the Cherohala Skyway. Most roadway surfaces here are in excellent condition, and the weather is great (except for an abundance of rain this year)!

I had a blast while I was in North Carolina and Eastern TN. Did tail of the dragon, the blue ridge parkway, all those amazing roads. I'm actually thinking of moving to the area eventually. What a refreshing difference from where I live. I don't think I hit one pothole after I got south of New Jersey. Meanwhile in the northeast the roads keep getting worse (I managed to crack a 16" wheel in NYC), the traffic sucks, all the drivers here in CT are old people who drive 10 mph under the speed limit and pull out in front of you without looking or college students texting.

Ideally I would say Germany is probably the best place to own a BMW. I've never been, but a friend did European delivery and he drove on the autobahn, and did the nurburgring.

I live in the DC area and both the roads and people here are just the worst. I recently went on a trip to Orlando, FL and was pleasantly surprised with my driving experience. I was under the impression that I would be surrounded by tourists and old folks driving horribly slow but boy was I wrong.

I was averaging about 90 mph on the highway going with the flow of traffic and was still getting passed by other drivers. Since it doesn't snow or freeze down there, the roads are incredibly smooth, you could go for tens of miles without hitting so much as a bump or pot hole. A much welcomed change from DC roads where your guaranteed to hit a bump or pothole every 50ft.

CA sucks for a lot of laws, taxes, and traffic. But there are great canyons and the weather is nice.

I'm on my way out of CA I think in the next few years... It's getting really crowded and the politicians and running the state into the shitter. Legal weed is drawing a lot of people in but I don't think we figured it out like colorado.

Did I mention taxes??? Holy shit it's expensive here, granted I live in one of the most expensive Zip codes in the US, but still. LA is cheaper but way too crowded...

Illinois you're lucky if you hit pavement every 50', the "hole" place is a pothole

Not south Florida for sure. Roads here are boring, hardly any curved roads

Where your summers aren't swamp ass for 4 months and your winters aren't frozen early darkness for 4 months. So not the northeast.

Don't forget about fuel prices, especially now that diesels are getting banned in many cities. Also, while not sure about German specifics, many 'yurpean countries tax your vehicle registration based on the horsepower, I think in some cases anything more than 250hp becomes very expensive. So might not be such BMW heaven after all.

Don't live in mass. Terrible roads, mass inspection is strict as hell cause of all the liberals so it's hard to get away with mods. Not to mention the cost of living here and the property values in and around Boston are laughable.

If I didn't have family and a career in healthcare here I'd be somewhere else
