Threw code P142E - fuel pump failure...

Had the most annoying experience with my 340 today - just exited a highway and the engine started dying, threw a drive-train malfunction error - I managed to pull over to a safe spot. I got a tow truck to drop off the car at my place and checked out the code - the only code is the P142E.
I'm running the Stg 2 tune from MHD with catless DP's - would it be ok to flash back to the stock tune while the car has this code? Once stock, I can get it to a dealer and get the fuel pump replaced.
I thought BMW fixed the HPFP issue with the 335's? Is this just a one off or something to be cognizant off going forward?

No JB4, but tried numerous times to reset things by switching off and not starting for a bit.
Anyway, I flashed it back to stock - but the codes were wiped out - after the stock flash, it won't start at all. It was flat-bedded to the dealership last night - already spoke to the SA, they will let me know today.

I had a drivetrain malfunction yesterday while driving extremely conservatively (traffic). Went straight home, flashed back to stock, started the car and it was gone.... Flashed back to BM3 Stage 2 and light is still off.

I did some pretty hard pulls on the way to work today, light has not returned...

I didn't have a way to read the code at home, so I have no idea what that was about.

If you were able to flash back to stock once you got home, you had the ability to read the codes, either via laptop or WiFi device. I'm just curious as to what could've caused your situation.

So, the issue was the low pressure fuel pump in the gas tank - replaced and it's running normal on MPPSK - will reflash stage 2 later today..

Whenever you go Stage 2 it's advisable to upgrade fuel pump or expect replacement.
