Brake lamp failure??

I got this light failure but both my brake lights are working. This warning light came on once and I took it to the dealer and they just adjusted the prongs and everything was fine. Anyone else have this issue?

The thing is both lights are working and the warning lamp is still on. The beeping noise gets annoying.

I got a warning that my headlights are not working, then parking lights, then breaklights, etc. Brought it in for service and when they hooked it up to their computer it told them that everything was not working. They could not figure out what was wrong and had to contact BMW..

Apparently the whole computer module needs to be replaced, and they've had my car since last Thursday now.

Not just German, I'd expand that to European. I wish I had $100 for every time I saw a Volvo or VW driving down the road, that had some sort of lamp/bulb/headlight that wasn't working.

I'll give it until this weekend. If it doesn't go off then I'll bring it back to the dealer.

I had this issue a couple weeks ago on my right brake light. It started off the same with the error message and the brake lights working then at random the error would show up and stay on for longer and longer. I finally had enough with the annoying messages and took it in for service. It turned out that one of the connectors on the brake lights broke off and I had to have the whole thing replaced. It was covered under warranty so no charge.

How long did it take for them to replace this?

The dealership had to order the part but it arrived same day so a couple hours due to waiting on the part and the initial troubleshooting to figure out what was causing the error. Once the part arrived they took the old one out and popped the new one in very quick.

Umm if you have a 335i the brake light housings have been having failures and they've released a TSB on them.
My taillight warning came and went for a few days too.
It may look like you brake lights are working (as they probably are when you check) but it may be intermittent and therefore the warning light.

Take it into the dealer if it happens again.
Changing out the brake light housing takes about 20 minutes or so for both. It's really fast and easy.

I had this error message appear 3 days ago, "right brake light malfunction". I checked the lights several times and it was working fine, so I figured I'd leave it alone and see if the message goes away (since this is my 3rd error message in 3 months of owning the car). Two days later it was still there, so I called my SA and he said there is a bulletin on this issue for e92's.

I brought my car in yesterday and they replaced the socket and bulb under warranty. It took about 1 1/2 hours, including a quick wash.
