Hi — I have a noise that I cannot figure out how to get rid of. It's a metal creaking noise that only appears towards during hardish braking right before the car fully stops. Sounds like it's coming from the front.

See video:

Thank you!

Remote audio diagnostics are so difficult. Nevertheless ...

- When did this sound appear? Suddenly? Over time?
- Any recent service? Hand brake adjusted?

This sound _appears_ to be a result of some component under tension.

Is the brake dust shield hitting anything that you can tell? I have a similar noise I'm trying to figure out for some time when hard cornering. Appears to be coming from the front too. I have H&R sport springs installed. Are you lowered at all?

Great questions.

I think it started right after i installed the Stoptech rotors...but i've double checked the torque specs on the calipers.

No recent chassis works done.

Pads have also been recently replaced with all pins in place.

I even tightened the bottom collar bolt too. Also double checked the strut top bolts for correct specs.

Now that I think about it, I think i remember the piece of paper gasket in between the top hat and chassis was kinda torn...wondering if it's that. Will replace and report back.

I have Dinan springs. I think I may know the culprit now — paper gasket between strut top hat and chassis. Will see...

Alright I'm out of ideas.

Replaced the top strut paper gasket. Not it. Checked the brake rotor dust guards. All good and straight.

This has to be brake related bc it only happens the half a second before a full stop. No?

Regreased all pins, also.

Is it the nature of these rotors? Am i supposed to just live with it? StopTech ECSTuning

FIXED. This is embarrassing but I took the caliper bolts spec off of the internet instead of actual doc. It was 22lbs but should have been 81lbs for the front😅
