328d Fuel Priming

Hey guys I am new to the forum and am wanting to complete a fuel filter change on my 15 328d. I am looking for a good diagnostic/ scan tool to prime the fuel pump after replacement. I have done a lot of research but most of the things I have found are a few years old. What is one of the newer diagnostic/ scan tools that can accomplish a fuel system prime after replacement of the filter. First Bmw and I have been able to do everything on her so far!

Thank you!

Changing the filter is not really necessary or possible

Ok I appreciate the quick response. I thought replacing the secondary fuel filter was necessary due to it being a diesel. Just from me having diesel trucks my whole life. I was told the diesel fuel filter was a necessary replacement on my vehicle as this was not a “lifetime” filter being a diesel.

Uh, what? BMW specifically says to change the N47 fuel filter every 4th oil change (40k miles) in the user manual.

You need to change it. You can use the ISTA SW on your laptop (connected to car with ethernet to OBDII) to prime the line.

There‘s no need to prime the fuel pump.
