Chester Frost Park, which is about 20 minutes north of downtown Chattanooga:

It's a great waterfront park with scenic views of Lake Chickamauga (Tennessee river), distant mountains, trees, boats, etc. Plenty of places for picnic/BBQ and photo opportunities. It's a good choice for a relaxing day of just hanging out with a beautiful view, food, friends, and our cars. If you wanted to go swimming, the water temperature is probably close to 88-90 degrees now.

Another alternative, if people want to take a scenic drive instead of chill out at a park, would be to meet downtown Chattanooga near the river (i.e., near Highway 27 and 4th Street) and do a "hill climb" up Signal Mountain Road (lots of switchbacks up to the top of a mountain), or the highway that takes you to the top of Lookout Mountain. Neither are too far away from downtown Chattanooga.

If we do the park for the scenery, photo opportunities, and relaxation, maybe we grill burgers and hot dogs? Just an idea. If we meet downtown for a drive, there are decent places to eat both familiar (TGI Friday's, Chili's) and unfamiliar (Ghengis Grille - excellent Mongolian BBQ) to most.

2pm till when ever---drive above mentioned roads with photo opp's along the way.
