Intake systems - Claimed power increases

A question I probably know the answer to. Does adding an intake like Dinan, Eventuri, etc actually help performance without a tune on an otherwise stock vehicle? My presumption is minimally if at all. Haven't seen anything definitive besides manufacturer dyno claims that seem to have a tune.

An intake does add power, but its minimal so you do not feel it. Its a really good mod since it has a slight power increase and major sound upgrade.

That being said if you are only after power, a tune, intercooler, downpipe, methanol injection will provide more value

Nothing a serious dyno or back to back quarter mile pull would show

But if done right, you can get some amazing sound from it

More sound = Tricks the brain in thinking you're going faster

Has anyone dyno'd their car with a stock intake and then after having an aftermarket intake on for at least a few weeks? I'm new to BMWs but some cars end up adapting to the intake and make stock power (or less) after it's been on for a while. How does the BMW ECU adapt?

the car has some sensore capable of reading the amount of air in the engine in that right moment. so he has some data to decide the amount of fuel to inject. it uses the lambda to see the amounto of oxigen e fine tune the calibration. more air mor fuel. of course it can adjust itself inside of a specific range

I heard you get a few HP from removing the charcoals filters alone and you may pick up a horsepower or two putting drop in K&Ns. That is what I did, I think you can notice a slight sound difference as well (nothing major).

If you Dyno again on a different day then you add the variance of temperature and humidity on those separate days.

Intakes do add power on the dyno, it nothing major and its for a short RPM range. If you are looking for a sound and cosmetic upgrade, get the intake. If you want power, you have other mods which offer more value.
